April Fools Day, April 1, is a day of lightheartedness, foolishness, and frivolity. It's also one of my favorite days of the year. Probably millions of harmless practical jokes are played on this day, and some of them may be directed at you. How do you avoid being tricked, or at least over tricked?
First of all, remember that it is April 1st, and take everything with a grain of salt. Expect silly things to happen and just go with the flow of it. Do not trust much of anything, including emails, phone calls, coworkers, and family.
Also remember the festivities really last more than a day. Some magazines I read always have a fake article, something truly absurd usually backed up by made up scientific research, in each April's issue. This may show up in late March or early April, not always on April first itself.
Be aware of jokes but don't be paranoid. Having someone pull a silly stunt on you doesn't make you a fool if you are having fun with it. Expect the unexpected and enjoy.
You might also consider some of your own April Fools stunts. There are plenty of silly things you can do that are fun and lighthearted, but be careful. For example a fake resignation letter at work might result in your losing your job, even if you put someone else's name on it. Make sure that whoever you are pulling jokes on will take them in the right spirit or at least in stride.

Hey, girls! You probably have already figured out that when a guy is in a steady relationship, he eventually becomes complacent and inattentive to his hair, to his clothes, or even to his girl. He often shrugs a wordless thanks for a meticulously home-cooked, five-course meal. What better way to regain the attention of your man and keep him on his best behavior than to make a prank call to him on April Fools' Day? Here are some can't-miss suggestions for you.
Do something to excite his deepest fantasies. When he's around, pretend to speak to someone on the phone; speak loud enough to make sure that he can hear it. Speak in a sexy voice something like, "Hello! I've been giving it a lot of thought. Maybe a candle light dinner at your house isn't a bad idea after all." Be sure to quickly hang up the phone before he can reach you, snatch the phone and figure out what's happening; if so, the fun game of April Fools' Day will end.
Arrange to be called by an ex; pretend to be your ex. Try some device or computer program to change your voice into your ex's voice; then make a call by yourself to your house and let him answer the phone. Draw out the conversation as long as you can. Uh-oh! Can you imagine what he'll be shouting after he hangs up the phone? See how angry he will be then. If you use your laptop to make the call, you can change your voice easily by using a voice changing software program.
Do a video chat with a sexy man. Do it somewhere in your house as long as he can see that. Text chat will work well only when he's a little bit close. If he's around but not very close, do voice chat and make sure that he can hear it. Let him see the webcam image of the man you're chatting with. Ask a nice male friend to help you. If that may be inconvenient, do it by yourself. Find some webcam software which let you change the face yourself.In case all the ways I have told you aren't getting your man's attention, try something more ambitious.
Try pretending that you are going to leave home for a long time. Pretend to win a scholarship abroad. Tell him, "Oh, it's not a long time! Two years will be gone before you know it. Can you stop thinking about yourself for once and just be happy for me?" If you are in an especially cruel mood, you can draw out this gag up until the time you are supposed to leave for the airport.
There's another way is to pretend to move out in the night before. Fake a big and teary argument on Saturday morning, and then have all your belongings cleared out well before Sunday. You will need some storage space for this gag, as well as a sympathetic friend with a car. You and your guy will share a big laugh when you call him on Monday morning and tell him you were just kidding! So now that the ideas have been revealed, are you sure you have the appropriate tools in hand? Google them, a voice changing software might be easy to find, yet the one to change your webcam is a little bit trickier to find. On the other hand many individuals refused to accept the new calendar and continued to celebrate the New Year on the 1st of April. These persons were branded as 'fools' by the general public and they were in return subjected to being laughed at, and were frequently sent on 'fools errands' or were just set up for other April Fools' Pranks.
These practical jokes developed, over a period of time, into a series of pranks on the first day of April. This custom after a while extended to Scotland and England in the 18th century. It was some time after initiated in the American colonies of the French and the English. April Fools' Day began to develop into a worldwide day of pure fun, which entertained several cultures which specialized in their own kind of humour at the expense of their friends and families.
Do you know that in Scotland April Fools' Day is in fact celebrated for two days? The second day is committed to pranks that involve the latter area of the body. It is known as Taily Day. The 'kick me' sign was originated within that time. I guess it is safe to say that people of Scotland are fun!
